The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a musical comedy with music and lyrics by William Finn, with a book written by Rachel Sheinkin, conceived by Rebecca Feldman with additional material by Jay Reiss. The show centers on a fictional spelling bee set in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups. It was nominated for six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, winning awards for Best Book (Rachel Sheinkin) and Best Featured Actor (Dan Fogler).

Lorelei is very excited to be doing her second production with stand-up for theater. Previously she was seen as Trixie and a zombie in Rocky Horror. Past favorite roles, include Catherine In Pippin, Belle in Beauty and the Beast and Peggy in Godspell. As the daughter of two English majors, she happens to be a great speller. She wants to thank her family for all their lovie and support especially her two beautiful daughters.


Mica Weiss

Chip Tolentino
Mica Weiss (Chip Tolentino) has been wanting to work of a production of Spelling Bee for a while, and this cast has made the experience absolutely wonderful. Some previous roles include: Perch Perkins (SpongeBob), Arvin (Zanna Don't!), Voice of Audrey II (Little Shop of Horrors), and Aldolpho (Drowsy Chaperone). Thank you for supporting local theatre!


Jessica Long

Jessica Long (Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre) is thrilled to be in her first production with Stand Up For...Theatre. She most recently appeared as Karen in The SpongeBob Musical with Silhouette Stages. Other past favorite roles include Into the Woods (Rapunzel), Company (Susan) and Cinderella (Stepmother). She'd like to thank the cast and production team for making this a great experience. She'd especially like to thank her husband Chris for doing this show with her. It's been many years since they shared the stage!


Johnny Drew

Leaf Coneybear
Johnny Drew, renowned for diverse roles in theater and film, takes the stage as Leaf Coneybear. From Little Shop of Horrors (Orin Scrivello D.D.S. ) to Shrek (Papa Bear) Drew's versatility shines. Grateful for the guidance of director Chris Pence and the dedication of producer Ed Higgins, Drew acknowledges the entire production team. Supported by castmates, friends, and family, he infuses his performance with heartfelt depth. Witness Johnny Drew's captivating portrayal, an artistic journey that resonates with talent, gratitude, and a touch of whimsy.


Lucy Blumberg

Lucy is thrilled to be a part of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Stand Up For…Theatre. Previous roles include The Rocky Horror Show (Phantom), Five Women Wearing the Same Dress (Frances), Jesus Christ Superstar (Leper Soloist), Heathers the Musical (Officer Milner), and Shrek the Musical (Queen Lillian). Lucy studied Theatre with a concentration in Acting at Frostburg State University. She now enjoys participating in local productions. This is her first named role after a six-year hiatus from acting.

Lexi is excited to be back at the Bee, this time with Stand Up For… Theatre! Favorite roles include Pride and Prejudice (Jane Bennet) The 25th Annujal Putnam County Spelling Bee (Olive Ostrovsky), Les Míserables (Fantine), and ‘night, Mother (Jessie Cates). Many thanks to Chris for this opportunity and having the chance to play alongside a great and hilarious cast! Lots of love to friends and family for all the support. Kristen Demers

Olive Ostrovsky
Kristen is thrilled to be back on stage! She has worked, both on and offstage, at several regional theatres across the country including Bucks County Playhouse and Dorset Theatre Festival before becoming a speech-language pathologist. Some of her favorite past roles include The Rocky Horror Show (Janet), Heathers the Musical (Martha), The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow), and Clue (Mrs. White). She would like to thank everyone for coming out to support local theatre!


Christopher Long

Christopher Long (Douglas Panch) is excited to make his debut with Stand Up For...Theatre. Chris has taken a lengthy hiatus from performing, but has previous experience in improv, musical theatre, and stand-up comedy. He can't wait to be on stage again with his wife Jessica- instead of just in the audience.


Bryan Brown

From the streets of NY to the Putnam Spelling Bee, Bryan Brown is excited to be back on the stage at Stand Up for Theatre. Adding to his resume which includes; Donkey, Frank N Furter, The Beast and Trekkie Monster; Bryan is elated to take on the role of Mitch. Hoping to make it to the Broadway stage, Bryan would like to thank the cast, crew and production team. He would like to give a special shoutout to Jenna, Chloe, Lexi and Emily for the continued love and support!!

Christopher Pence (Director) is thrilled to be making his directing debut SUFT! Favorite roles include Lt. Sam Weinberg (“A Few Good Men,” SUFT), Col. Mustard (“Clue,” SUFT), and Jonathon (“Arsenic & Old Lace,” ASoB). Shoutout to Mom, Dad, Ray, and Kelly for their unending support. A huge thanks to Ed for taking a chance on me, as a director, and as an actor. Though there are always bumps in the road, I know that I can always look to SUFT for friendship and support. It's an honor to work with such an amazing group of actors, producers, and friends. Here's to the actors, the producers, the crew, and the best group of friends I could ever hope to have. "We are the slightest bit bizarre," but we're a family through and through. Have a very nice, very nice, very very very nice show!
